Privacy Policy for Decant
Decant has no accounts and no analytics. We don't collect your data, and there is no server of ours for it to go to.
What stays on your device
Your settings — which features you've turned on, your audio and quality preferences — are stored on your device. Your trial start date and your purchase state also stay on your device; they are never uploaded anywhere.
iCloud sync, if you turn it on
Decant can sync your settings between your own devices. When that's on, the settings are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's key-value store. We can't read it, and no one else can either. Trial and purchase state are never part of this sync.
The one outbound request
If you have sponsor skipping turned on, the app asks the public SponsorBlock database
(sponsor.ajay.app) whether the video you're watching has submitted segments.
That request goes from your device directly to SponsorBlock and carries the video's ID.
We don't proxy it and never see it. Turn the feature off and the request stops.
SponsorBlock's own privacy policy applies to it.
Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details, name or address — Apple shares only aggregate sales reports, with no personal information in them.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no email collection.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No advertising, and no advertising SDKs.
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no data sold or shared for marketing.
Children
Decant is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect nothing from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. Nothing is collected today that a change could retroactively expose.
